Weight Update: I know, I have put up 2+ kg of weight compared to weight as on Jan 1st 2016. Will lose those extra fittings before the next major race.

Expectations for 2017:
As usual first target is to lose weight which will make me run better.(This will be the first point in almost every year’s fitness review). This year i am gonna be serious about it 🙂
Skip Apple device purchase this year, instead spend the amount to setup a basic gym(in runners perceptive) @ home.
Do cross Training(Cycling/Walking) at-least once in a week.
Strictly 2 Full Marathons per running season(with minimum 3 months gap between the both) & be selective in choosing races.
Read a lot of running related books and keep updating my running knowledge.
Btw, Ran 32km this morning @ comfortable pace which can be considered as a 2016 farewell run 🙂

First of all kudos to Dir Pa Ranjith for showing us ‘ Actor Rajinikanth’ after a long time. Very happy to see Rajini playing his age(no fancy duets/ separate romance track etc..). ( Hope he continues it in future)
Emotional content(father daughter reunion & husband wife daughter reunion) worked out very well. Terrific acting by Radhika Apte & other cast members Sai Dhansika/Dinesh/kalaiarasan/Jhon Vijay did their part well. Santhosh Narayanan ‘s BGM & Songs were good. Neerupu da Song/BGM used very well on screen.
In-spite of so many positives, what really went wrong?? Obliviously, it’s the story and screenplay which can be considered as the main villain of Kabali. Villains were not powerful & the Villain track had a lot of ‘Madras movie’ reference.
Not every director will get a chance to direct Super Star in his/her 3rd movie. Pa Ranjith should have concentrated more on the story and screenplay. He missed a golden chance to hit sixer.
Don’t expect Badsha/Padayappa kind of movie while entering theater. Instead, go with zero expectations, u may end up liking the emotional gangster(Kabali).
Too much of hype given by ‘Kalaipuli Thanu’ can be one of the reason for so many negative reviews. ‘Vaanam Parthean’ song visuals along with some sentimental clips should be released as teaser instead of Mass ‘Neerupu da’ teaser. That would have made audience very clear what to expect from Kabali.

Highlights of 2015:
PB’s set for 10km – 21.1km – 42.2km – 50km (Even I am not sure when i am gonna break it)
Started Eating Sensible and weight started coming down which in turn made running more easy and enjoyable.. Thanks to Venkatraman Pichumani sir’s 12 week weight loss challenge… Will speak more about it once I reach the target weight)
Chennai Trekking Club ‘s Javadhu Hills Ultra gave me a chance to run beyond 42.2km at a nominal price and it can be considered as the best race i have ever run in my life… Eagerly waiting for JHU16
Ran as a 3 hr Half marathon pacer @ Coimbatore Marathon 2015. It was totally a different experience & felt happy to help many runners to meet their sub 3 HM Goal.
What 2015 taught me :
Listen to minor injuries.. Ignoring minor injuries will turn into major injuries which will make you stay out of action for more than 3 weeks.
Target for 2016:
Stay Injury Free
Lose another 6 kg and get back to my college days weight(68 kg)
Less Quantity – More Quality(i.e be selective in registering for races)
Buy road bike & and ride at-least twice in a week as cross training
It’s almost 3 weeks since i put on my running shoes.. Very sad to end 2015/begin 2016 without any run/walk.. Hoping to recover from knee injury as early as possible and get back on track & start training for Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 16 The Wipro Chennai Marathon 15(16) Auroville Marathon 16

1st Half –> Rehash of Dhanush’s earlier stage movies like Padikathavan/Polladhavan/Yaradi nee mohini/thiruvilayadal arambam etc… I mean the same jobless role/drinking and singing with friends.. But still its “Entertaining”
2nd Half –> All of a sudden, the movie turns into serious mode & villain comes into action. Then the usual cat & mouse game between hero & villain(Boring Stuff) lasts till the climax.(BTW Climax was so stupid)
Surabhi/Amala Paul/Vivek wasted in the movie.
Mr Dhanush, this is just 25th movie & u have a long way to go. Y imitating u r father in law in too many scenes? If u continue to do so, u will lose your identity.
Over all, an above average movie which can be watched once for the sake of few songs and first half.

Arima Nambi –> The same old kidnap story(old wine in old bottle). Few movies will have an excellent first half and pathetic second half, this movie too falls into that category..
First half was racy/interesting & looks like second half was taken for granted.. Climax was ok. RD Rajasekar’s camera work was good. Drums Sivamani’s music was not appealing. Wish they trimmed lot of unwanted scenes in the second half.
Vikram Prabhu is yet to choose a right script after Kumki.. Priya Anand has got noting much to do in this movie.
Watch it at u r own risk.. But If you have decided to watch it, then – DON’T SEE ANY LOGIC.

Vaayai Moodi Pesavum(VMP) –> Only very few directors think of something out of the box and present the same without making any-kind of commercial compromise.. Dr Balaji Mohan falls into that category…
Romance/father-son relationship/Media/Politics in Cinema Industry etc portrayed in a different way(2nd half – No one speaks). Freshness prevails throughout the movie- that’s the main USP of the movie. Perfect casting is an added advantage.
Go for it.. U wont be disappointed…
