Settai

Settai-single-track-launched

Settai–> Delhi Belly worked out in Bollywood due to it’s adult content, unusual scenes, racy screenplay & of course Amir’s item number :-)

First Mistake –> Producer tried to remake the movie without even thinking whether, such kind of movie will work out with Tamil Audience..

Second Mistake–> Dir Kannan tried to make few changes to get U certificate, in-spite of getting U certificate, there are many scenes which won’t suit the family audience.. Don’t know how they give U certificate…

Third Mistake –> How many more years director’s like you gonna ride on Santhanam’s shoulder ??? You can make lollu sabha with santhanam but not an entire movie depending on him..

Mr Kannan, U killed Jab we met couple of years back, now you killed Delhi Belly… Please don’t even think of remaking Bollywood classics in future.. Try to write ur own story and direct the same…

Settai –> Soodhanai :-)

Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga

kedi-billa-killadi-ranga-movie-stills-HQ-Q9K

Story Analysis:

2 friends namely Kesavan(Vimal) & Murugan(Shiva Karthikeyan) are very close to each other right  from their childhood. As usual they are jobless and they spend their time by roaming in streets and drinking with friends.. Their only aim in their life is to become a politician and make good money without putting in any kind of hard work.

Gals ( Bindhu and Regina) come in their life and as expected they both fall in love at first sight.  In order to get their respective gal friend, Murugan should become a politician and Kesavan should stay away from politics and do some other job. What happens to their dream of becoming a politician??? What makes them to turn into a matured/responsible men forms the climax…

Cast and Crew Analysis:

Excellent acting by Siva karthikeyan , it can be considered as his career best movie…Very good to see him improving in various aspects like dancing, dialogue delivery, comical one liners etc..  Vimal, Soori, Bindhu, Regina and other cast people have justified the role given to them..

Yuvan’s songs didn’t impress me, but his BGM was good.. Director Pandiraj tried to make a commercial movie with 4 people in lead, but he literally failed in many places… He should have concentrated more on the story line.. Climax was preachy.. I personally expected more from the national award winner.

General Analysis:

Both first half was good with some non-stop comedy… Second half was dragging big time with few unwanted songs/scenes and boring climax. Over all, its an one time watchable entertainer which can be watched for the sake of one and only Siva Karthikeyan.

Aadhi Bhagavan

Aadhi-Bhagavan-New-Movie-Stills-4-1024x682

I personally love all the movies directed by Ameer, and he is one of my favorite director.. Aadhi Bhagavan was launched in 2009 and supposed to be released in 2010,, But then, I don’t know the exact reason for the delay, Finally it got released today (2013)..

When movies are kept just like that without releasing for some years, then it will become outdated and it will struggle at the box-office.. As for as Aadhi Bhagavan is concerned, in-spite of releasing after 2 long years, the movie still looks fresh & entertaining..

No huge hype/expectations for this movie due to the delay.. How is the movie?? Is it worth watching?? Read the entire review and find out.

Story Analysis:

The movie starts off with a CBI raid being conducted by Aadhi ( Jeyam Ravi) in a Andhra Pradesh local business man’s home.. He takes all the money/documents and run away to Bangkok. Later we come to know that, Aadhi is a don who is ready to do anything for money. Karishma (Neethu Chandra) , a bar attender in Bangkok. As usual Aadhi falls in love with Karishma.. Later, karishma takes Aadhi to Mumbai in order to make him to meet her father.

As soon as they land in Mumbai, the twist happens and we get introduced to Bhagavan(Jeyam Ravi) a local don with female traits, who looks alike Aadhi.. As the story unfolds, we come to know the reason behind bringing Aadhi to Mumbai (Suspense, which I don’t like to reveal).. Aadhi Vs Bhagavan fight forms the climax & with that the movie comes to an end.

Cast & Crew Analysis:

Jeyam Ravi Played the lead role, Oh my god.. He just rocked and it can be considered as his career best movie. He showed excellent variation between the two characters. Hats off to Jeyam Ravi for accepting this script and doing the Bhagavan character (female traits) with ease.. Wish he selects good scripts like Aadhi Bhagavan in future..

Neethu Chandra played the female lead.. Usually tamil movie heroines appear in songs and run behind trees along with heros.. But this gal smokes on screen, fights with hero in the climax & this explains her characterization in this movie.. Very bold and matured performance by Neethu..

As usual Yuvan spoiled the party with his hopeless songs.. But his BGM was good.. Excellent camera work and editing.. No comments about Ameer, he tried his level best to do something different and he succeeded in it by making a neat & entertaining action packed movie.

General Analysis:

First half was too slow with unwanted songs in many places, but the pre-interval scene (intro of Baghavan) was chanceless.. The crowd just went crazy for the particular scene. Second half was too fast and the tempo kept on increasing till the climax fight.

The only drawback that I found was, the fight scenes were very lengthy & it contained more violence. That should have been avoided, but still action movie lovers will like it. May be few family audience won’t prefer such kind of violence in a movie.

Over all, Aadhi Bhagavan is a decent movie, which is worth watching once & I am sure you will fall in love with Bhagavan’s characterization as well as Neethu Chandra’s bold act. Go & watch it immediately..

Vishwaroopam

333165-tamil-nadu-associations-to-boycott-screening-of-kamal-haasan-s-vishwar

Vishwaroopam – Don’t think I need to give any kind of introduction to this movie.. Thanks to those controversies which made the movie so popular prior to the release..  At certain point of time, all those issues turned as free publicity and they increased the hype/expectation level of the movie.. & Almost every south Indian wants to know what’s so special in Vishwaroopam & I am sure that, all of them will watch at least once..  So Vishwaroopam stood up to the hype/expectations??? Read the entire review and find out..

Story Analysis:

Dr. Nirupama(Pooja Kumar) a nuclear oncologist gets married to  Vishwanathan(Kamal) a kathak dancer with feminine traits and lives in USA.. Nirupama doesn’t like her husband and she falls in love with her boss Deepak who has link with terrorist Omar (Rahul Bose).

Nirupama & Vishwanathan fall into a trap with Omar and later Nirupama comes to know that, her husband is not only a dancer but he has another face too.. As Omar revels the flashback, the story travels to Afganisthan where Vishwanathan is show as Wasim Kasmiri(missing man from Indian Army) giving training to Afgan people.. As the story unfolds, we come to know that Wasim is an Indian spy who helps America..

At present, Omar plans to plant a bomb in USA and distract the harmony of the nation.. As usual hero with his friends and FBI tries very hard & defuse the bomb.. with a dialogue(fight between me and Omar is not over = Vishwaroopam part 2 confirmation) the movie comes to an end..

Cast & Crew Analysis:

Kamal played the male lead.. Excellent acting and he showed good variation in all the three characters which he played.. Pooja Kumar played the female lead, She did her part well.. Her dubbing voice( I think Gouthami’s voice) didn’t suit her in many places.. Couldn’t understand the role  of Andrea in this movie,,, But still she did her part well..

Terrific acting by Rahul Bose as a deadly one-eyed Villain.. Really loved his re-recording voice…  All other cast members like Sekar Kapur and foreign artists did their part well..

Excellent camera work by Sanu Varghese.. Sankar-Eshan-Loy took care of the music,, and their BGM was good & the first song(kathak) was good.. Kamal took care of the directton/screenplay etc etc.. and its his one man show..

Kudos to Kamal for making a movie which is of international standards.. Having said all these, he made some mistakes too which is discussed in general analysis..

General Analysis:

First half was too good… can’t find any problem with it… As the second half starts, the tempo goes down  & many scenes were easily predictable.. As the movie reaches Climax, we happen to see the usual bomb planting by the terrorist and defusing by the hero along with his friends and FBI..

The climax was not convincing.. As kamal wishes to take Vishwaroopam part 2, he left it wide open, In that we will be seeing the clash between Wasim and Omar in Vishwaroopam part 2..

Over all, it’s a decent movie taken by Kamal which should be watched once for the sake of effort which he has put in for the past two years.. If we are not gonna support Kamal… Who else will????

David

david1213_rev_m

I personally like multi-starrer movies.. that’s the only reason, I expected a lot from David and watched the same with huge expectations.. Really disappointed due to various reasons which are shown below..

Story Analysis:

The poster says ” Two lives.. One Name”

Mumbai 1999:

David(Jiiva) a passionate  guitarist  lives in a middle class christian family along with his 2 sisters and Christianity preaching father… David’s only aim in life is to become a lead guitarist and work under a famous music director.. One fine day, Hindu community people attack his father.. That makes David to drop the guitar and take the weapon in order to take revenge..

Goa 2000:

David(Vikram) a fisher man lives along with his mother.. His only work is drink alcohol all the 24 hours a day.. On the day of his wedding , his fiancee run away with another guy.. Initially he hates love/relationship with gal, later he comes across a gal who happens to be his close friend’s fiancee.. As usual he falls in love with her and tries hard to win her heart, in-spite of knowing that she will be married to his own friend in few days..

Fate makes both the Davids to meet each other in the end.. How they meet??? what makes them to meet??? What happens to them?? forms the climax..

Cast and Crew Analysis:

Excellent acting by Vikram,, he did his part well.. But showing him as a drunkard throughout the movie was a bad idea and it was irritating as the movie progressed.. Yet another promising performance by Jiiva… He is getting better day by day..

Apart from the two main lead, other cast people just got very limited screen space and they did their part well.. Couple of songs were good and Goa episode’s BGM was good.. Good camera work by Rathinavelu and P.S Vinod..

General Analysis:

The major mistake which Bejoy Nambiar did was, he promoted this movie as a tamil movie starring Vikram and Jiiva,, but while watching the movie, anyone can easily guess that, Vikram’s entire portion was dubbed from hindi version.. That caused very poor lip synchronization…

As per censor certificate the duration of the movie is around 128 minutes. But while watching the movie, 128 minutes looked like 328 minutes.. Movie was too slow..

There are 3 Davids in Hindi version,, Director should have introduced 3rd David in Tamil version too.. That would have made the movie more interesting..

Really can’t understand the use of Lara Dutta’s episode in the movie.. David fails to fall in any category like time pass entertainer/feel good movie/movie with a strong message…

David – enjoyable in parts,, But it’s difficult to watch the whole movie.. I think, watching this movie in Hindi with E-Subs will be a better option..

Kadal

Kadal-Tamil-Movie-Latest-Unseen-HQ-Wallpapers (3)

Mani Rathnam is back with Kadal after that hopeless Raavanan… Post Raavanan he started with ponnin selvan,, But it got shelved due to various reasons and he got back to his favorite genre namely Romance.. Songs were huge hit,, His come back movie after 2 years,, So naturally expectations were very high.. Kadal lived upto the expectations??? Read the entire review and find out the answer..

Story Analysis:

Sam(Aravind Swami) and Bergsman(Arjun) meet each other at a priest training school.. Bergsman have an illegal relationship with a lady and Sam comes to know about it.. There the problem starts between.. Bergsman leaves the training school.. Later Sam goes to a village as a church priest..

Thomas (Goutham Karthick) an orphan lives in that village, Sam guides Thomas and make him a fisherman.. One fine night, some unknown persons shoot at Bergsman and Sam saves him,,, In-spite of saving his life, Bergsman put Sam into trouble and that makes Sam 2 go to Jail..

In the mean time, Thomas joins with Bergsman and do all kind of illegal activities.. and he also falls in love with Bea (Tulasi Nair) who happens to live in a care-taking center.. As the story unfolds, we come to know that Bea happens to Bergsman’s daughter..

After few days, Sam comes back to village from jail.. Good (Sam) Vs Evil( Bergsman) continues, how it comes to an end & what happens to the love between Thomas and Bea forms the climax..

Cast & Crew Analysis:

Power packed performance by debut hero Gautham Karthick.. He acted/danced/emoted so well and he has a bright future in Kollywood.. Tulasi Nair played the female lead,, She looked so kiddish and she appeared in limited scenes.. wish she could have performed better..

What a gr8 come back by Aravind Swami,, He stole the show and carried the entire movie on his shoulder.. Good acting by Arjun as well.. Though his characterization looked confused,, he did a brilliant job… Rest of the cast did their part well..

I don’t have anything to say about AR Rahman.. His BGM and songs were awesome.. without ARR, Kadal would have been more bad.. Excellent camera work by Rajiv Menon.. Editor should have trimmed lot of unwanted scenes and made the movie more crisp & clear..

Regarding Mani Rathnam, he spoiled the entire show due to lack of punch present in the story line as well as screenplay.. Wish he takes his own time and bounce back with a quality movie..

General Analysis:

First half was good… The entire problem was with the second half.. They literally dragged with unwanted scenes.. Climax was very dramatic(Mani’s touch was missing).. For the sake of songs and excellent camera work, it can be watched once at your own risk.

Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasiaya (KLTA)

kanna-laddu-thinna-aasaiya-movie-014

3 Boys ( Power Star, Santhanam, Sethu) are close friends. They come across a gal namely Sowmya and all of them fall in love with her.. 3 friends take a decision to go separately and try to impress her and win her heart.. And the rest of the story is all about how & who win Sowmya’s heart…

Excellent acting by the entire cast and crew members… Can’t think of KLTA without power star Srinivasan, his screen presence was too good… What ever may be the scene, when power star appears on screen, audience just go crazy and clap their hands or blow whistles.. That’s the power of power star :-)

Special appearance of Simbhu was like a cherry kept on a black forest cake.. Excellent songs by Taman and choreography was superb(Especially power star’s dance movement).. Kudos to Santhanam for producing this movie and releasing the same with the help of red gaint movies during festival season(Pongal)..

Its a comical entertainer which should not be missed at any case.. Go and watch it immediately…

Rating: 3.75/5

And those who criticized power star in various TV Shows (especially Neeya Naana Gopinath), Kindly go and watch KLTA to know who is power star and what’s his star value..Though he created everything by himself, he damaged his own image in many scenes and made the people to laugh,, How many comedians have guts to do like this????  Power Star can be considered as the next sensation of Tamil Cinema,, he has got a long way to go provided he selects proper script.
