Naan Sigappu Manithan

Naan Sigappu Manithan –> First of all hats-off to dir Thiru for thinking something different and presenting the same with a hero who has sleeping disorder(Narcolepsy)..

Vishal & Lakshmi Menon chemistry/performance – Top class. Almost every other supporting cast members did their part well except Sundar Ram. GV Prakash should have taken extra care on Songs & it fell in wrong places..

Fun filled first half + unexpected happenings in the second half(though it may not work with few family audience) with a good climax makes the movie an awesome romantic thriller which is worth watching.. Go for it…

Maan Karate

Maan Karate –> Few movies will have excellent first half and the second half will be exactly opposite to the first half.. Maan Karate falls into that category.

The director failed to blend comedy, action, romance etc., in a proper way.. Most of the time, Siva make us laugh & all of a sudden he turns into serious mode(Climax fight) which is unbelievable. Maan Karate boxer punching skilled boxer & winning championship is too much..

Performance wise, Maan Karate is the best movie for Siva Karthikeyan. He has improved a lot in various departments like acting/dancing/dialogue delivery/body language/dressing..

Siva Karthikeyan’s fans will like it & others can watch it once for the sake of excellent first half + Anirudh’s peppy songs which are well choreographed.

On a general note, I personally felt A R Murugadoss should have written the screenplay along with his story. Debut director Thirukumaran missed to hit the jackpot in-spite of having excellent cast & crew members.

Vijay Mohanlal Kajal JILLA Movie Latest Snaps HQ (3)

Vijay is back with Jilla after that debacle “Thalaivaa” which faced so many issues prior to release and failed at box-office.. In order to stay away from controversies, they underplayed right from the day of launch.. Promos were very low, trailer released just couple of days before the theater release.. Malayalam super star joins hand with Vijay for the first time.. So how is Jilla? Read the entire review and find out..

Story Analysis:

Sivan(Mohan Lal) is a deadly don of Madurai.. During an encounter, Sivan’s driver lose his life and save his boss… From that incident, Sivan takes care of his driver’s son(Sakthi-Vijay) and in fact treats him like his own son.. Sivan and Sakthi join and do all sort of rowdyism in Madurai. In order to save himself from police , Sivan asks Sakthi to become a police.

At certain point of time, Sakthi wants to stop all these kind of rowdyism and change his father into a good human being. The remaining story is all about the usual cat and mouse game between father & son with one Villain between them.

Cast and Crew Analysis:

Vijay played the lead role… After a long time, superb acting/body language/dialogue delivery which looked pleasant throughout the movie. Mohanlal did justice to the role given to him.. I don’t think anyone else can do that role with ease..

Kajal Agarwal played the female lead, don’t know whats wrong with her.. She looked sad throughout the movie and didn’t get much scope to perform. Just danced for songs and appeared in very few scenes. For the first time, Soori wasted .. and infact his comedy irritated.. Sampath played the role of usual tamil cinema villain.. Mankatha fame Mahath has nothing much to do.. Other cast and crew members acted well..

D.Imman’s songs & BGM- biggest asset for the movie… But still, 2 songs placed in wrong position which in-turn increased the length of the movie. In-spite of so many positives, one guy spoiled the whole feel of the movie.. He is none other than Director Nesan. When two super stars join together, story and screenplay should be gripping. But here, looks like he has shifted the basic plot from Dheena.. Wish he had worked out second half better.

General Analysis:

First half was ok.. Second half was very lengthy.. Due to boring screenplay, the tempo went down post interval..

Wish they immediately remove that Jingunamani song, eppo mama treat song and few scenes, so that the whole movie will look short and crisp.. Nowadays it’s very difficult to make audience to sit inside theater for a long duration(3 hrs+)

Over all, ‘okay’ kind of movie which will satisfy all Vijay fans and neutral fans can watch once.

Arrambam is just 70+ days old and still running in few screens… Here comes Thala Ajith’s Veeram with less expectations due to bad songs, mass trailer(not liked by many people), Ajith – Tamanna Combo( which many people made fun) . In-spite of all these issues, Veeram is gonna rock at box office.. What makes veeram special ??? Read the entire review and find out…

Story Analysis:

Vinayagam(Ajith) and 4 brothers live together and their aim is to stay as single till they die. Unfortunately 2 brothers fall in love… In order to get married, all brother’s with the help of Santhanam try to make Vinayagam fall in love with Kopuerndevi(Tamanna)… Few situations make Kopu to fall in love with Vinayagam..

Kopu and her family members are strictly against fights/rowdyism etc.. In order to get Kopu, Vinayagam drops weapon and turns into a good human being and stay for a week in Koppu’s village to attend a local festival..

Few villains try to kill Vinayagam, later he finds out that, they are trying to kill Kopu and her family members..Remaining story is all about how Vinayagam save kopu’s family members and win their hearts as well as Kopu. .

Cast and Crew Analysis:

Ajith played the lead role, I think this is the first time he is doing a village based role throughout the movie.. He did it with ease and carried the entire movie on his shoulder rite from frame 1 to the last.. Tamanna played the female lead, and it’s a kind of comeback movie for her in kollywood after 3 years.. She acted and emoted so well..

Out of 4 brothers, bala and vidarth stole the show.. Santhanam back with a bang and he got so many claps in the first half.. Nazzer played a prominent role… Other supporting cast did their part well..

Music director DSP’s thundering BGM was good.. But couple of songs were bad.. Full marks to Director Siva for perfectly blending all aspects like love/action/sentiment/comedy etc,. and made an awesome movie which will be liked by all segment audience.

General Analysis:

1st half – comedy + romance … Second half – sentiment+Mass.. It’s very rare to see this kind of “Ajith” movie which satisfies all kind of audience.. Go and watch with your family members , they wont be disappointed..

Veeram – A movie to cherish forever..

Irandam Ulagam

I personally love Selvaragavan’s movie… Before watching this movie, according to me, Selva’s worst product is 1000thil oruvan,,, But after watching Irandam Ulagam, I can clearly say ‘IR’ the worst movie ever made by him. What made IR ‘the worst’ of Selvaragavan ?? Read the entire review to know the answer.

Story Analysis:

Current World:

Madhu(Arya) and Ramya(Anushka) fall in love with each other..unfortunately Ramya dies… there ends the current world….

Parallel World:

Maravan(Arya) falls in love with Varna(Anushka).. He tries all his stunt and get married with Varna… Varna doesn’t want to be dependent on anyone.. So she tries to kill herself, But Amma(Treated as god in the parallel world) saves her.. Amma brings Madhu to the parallel world.. Then the conflict starts between Madhu, Varna and Maravan.. In the gap, opponent team kidnap Amma to their place.

The remaining story is all about how Madhu, Varna and Maravan save Amma, How Madhu teaches the meaning of Love in the parallel world.. and what happens to Madhu in the parallel world… forms the climax.

Cast and Crew Analysis:

Arya acted well in the first half, but in the second half, he overacted in many places.. Anuskha did her part with perfection.. This movie can also be considered as a female centric film.. Anushka got a meaty role to play than Arya.. Cameraman Ramji can be considered as the backbone of this movie…

Harris Jeyaraj’s songs were good… Don’t know y 2 songs didn’t find a place in such a lengthy movie.. Anirudh’s BGM was ok.. He still needs experience to compose BGM for a movie like like Irandam Ulagam.

Captain of the ship Mr Selvaragavan tried something new.. But he failed miserably to convince the audience with a strong story and a neat and clear screenplay(which can be understood by c-segment audience). Wish he stops dreaming about the different world and concentrate on the existing world…

General Analysis:

First half was ok with the usual elements like comedy, romance etc… the real trouble started in the second half… (i.e) when Madhu reaches the parallel world…

Mr Selvaragavan, when you wish to take risk like this, u should be in a position to produce & release it.. 60 cr’s(approx) is the total budget, don’t know how many cr’s this movie gonna recover..

This movie is not gonna take tamil cinema to the next level.. Remember selvaragan and other directors, tremendous VFX alone not gonna make the movie shine @ Box-office… There is something called as Story and Screenplay.. concentrate on that and make better movies..

If u r too jobless, go and watch the movie,, others pls skip it.. Not worth watching in theater..

What happens when super hit Billa combo joins once again after 5 years ? Naturally the expectations will be very high.. It’s very tough to keep up the standards set by Vishnu and Thala in Billa.. But this time, they came up with a movie(with social message) which is better than  Billa in all the aspects. That’s the first step of success for Arrambam.

Story Analysis:(Spoilers Ahead)

It’s very simple… Ashok kumar(Ajith) – bomb disposal specialist and Sanjay(Rana) – police officer are very close friends.. During an operation, Sanjay lose his life because of using low quality bullet proof  jacket approved by home minister and there is a huge scam behind this low quality bullet proof jacket which includes home minister himself and some police officers too..

with the help of Maya(Nayanthara), Arjun(Arya) – computer hacker and Anitha(Tapsee) – Arjun’s lady love, Ashok takes revenge on home minister and other people associated with the scam.

Cast and Crew Analysis:

Ajith played the lead role with ease.. Be it villain or hero, he did it with 100 % perfection. Arya got equal footage and he did his part well.. Once again Nayanthara is back with a bang.. She continued from where she left in Billa.. Tapsee  was ok but she has got nothing much to do in the movie.. Kishore as angry cop - Mahesh Manjrekar as home minister did their part well. Though Rana appears only for few mins, but his characterization and acting made his impression felt in the movie.

Yuvan’s BGM was ok(no where near Billa) and songs were not impressive. Vishnu Vardhan & writer Subha’s screenplay can be considered as the highlight of the movie.. In-spite of story being so simple, the way they narrated was so good. stunt sequences – simply superb(none of them were boring).  Excellent camera work my om prakash.

Congrats to Vishnu Vardhan for making a perfect multi-starrer(which is very rare in Tamil Cinema) by believing that story and screenplay alone is the hero of the movie. Wish we see many multi-starrer movies in Tamil.

General Analysis:

The movie starts off very slow with Arya’s flash back + song with Tapsee, but once the plot is set, the movie takes off and travel at a gr8 speed till the climax. Very few dragging moments in the second half beginning(Flash back of Ajith) could have been trimmed or made shorter. Other than few logical miss here and there, nothing else can be blamed in the movie.

Over all a perfect Thala diwali treat 2 all Thala Fans & neutral cinema goers too.. Go and watch it.. U wont be disappointed.. Even if you are a non Ajithian- Thala will impress you for sure..
